Dear Friends and Supporters:
Since the early church days when the first body of believers gathered together, we have been reminding ourselves of the promise of Scripture, “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:41 and 42). We continue to remind ourselves of our responsibility to win people to Christ, to carry out our responsibility of teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. That is God’s prescription for all churches. It is a magnificent plan of God. Does it work? “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved” (Acts 2:46 and 47). The results are that believers who devote themselves to the truth of these essentials will see God’s church expand and grow.
-5000 more, Acts 4:4
-Multitudes of men and women, Acts 5:14
-Disciples increased and the great company of priests became obedient to
the faith, Acts 6:7
-The church continued to multiply throughout Judea, Galilee, and
Samaria, Acts 9:31
-Large numbers of people were brought to the Lord, Acts 11:21-24
-In Inconium there were large numbers of people that believed, both Jews
and Greeks, Acts 14:1
-The churches were strengthened in faith and increased in number daily,
Acts16:5
-Many others believed and a number of prominent Greek women and
men as well, Acts 17:12
The numbers were remarkable and the growth was intense. The growth was continual, but not without opposition and persecution. Our adversary, the devil, as hard as he tried could not stop the early church. And as much as the devil is trying to hinder today’s church, he will not succeed.
I am a believer in having revivals conducted in our local churches. I love revivals and I love seeing what happens as a result of them. I never tire of seeing somebody get saved while out soul winning or seeing someone walk down the aisle of the church. It is thrilling to watch individuals and families join the church. It is a command and commission from Christ for the church until He comes again.
I am grateful for the hand of God and the results that we see on a daily basis in our recent revival meetings. I have been in revival services almost every night for several weeks in several different states, with the exception of the week I was home for the homegoing of my brother, Doyal Wayne Taylor.
For the last five years my brother has worked with us at Mt. Salem Revival Grounds and has lived on the properties. On March 23, he passed away. I thank the Lord for Doyal. I had the privilege of leading him to Christ on a picnic table in the backyard of my house on September 7, 2007. In the last six months, I lost my sister, Cindy at 56, and my brother, Doyal, at 58. Heaven’s sounding sweeter all the time! I wanted to give you his obituary: Doyal Wayne Taylor, 58 of Rt. 2, West Union (Morgan’s Run Community) departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2012, in his residence. He was born on July 2, 1953, in Dallas, TX. Surviving are his parents, Alton Ray and Betty Jo “Brewster” Taylor, TX; one son, Nathaniel Wayne Chapman, Forney, TX; two brothers, Evangelist Randy E.
